"Every moment is a new encounter with yourself"

Massage therapy and body-oriented therapy combine holistic bodywork and therapy. It's a form of mind-body therapy. It is aimed at consciously feeling and experiencing, with our body as the entrance. We focus on you as a whole. In this therapy form you learn to observe your thoughts and feelings in your body and to experience that it is safe to feel. This gives you a better understanding of yourself. As a result, you can meet your needs and make better choices for your well-being.

How I work

I work from the point of view that body and mind are one. How we feel mentally and emotionally affects our physical condition and vice versa. This then has repercussions on how we interact with other people, on our work environment, but especially on our relationship with ourselves. If we ignore certain emotions or feelings, we lose (life) energy over time. That's when (certain) symptoms can occur. This can be a direct result of ignoring our 'internal' world.

I combine body-oriented therapy and massage therapy with a focus on nervous system regulation. This approach is designed to help you move toward greater ease and safety in your body.

What that means for you

Every session is tailored to your needs at that moment, with the overall focus on your underlying goal or question. No two sessions are the same, because each moment you are meeting yourself anew. My aim is to bring you more body awareness and, over time, a sense of safety so your body can find its way back to a more regulated nervous system.

How I work

Each session can vary, because I work intuitively and draw on more than 20 years of personal and professional experience. I approach with curiosity, leaving space for whatever wants to emerge in the moment. I explore the story your body is telling—what it still holds, where there could be more flow, and where that flow is blocked. This shows up in posture, thoughts, breathing patterns, beliefs, and the way you connect with the outside world.

What you can expect in practice

I guide you from head and it's thoughts to the rest of the body, to it's sensations, emotions and impulses that want to come forth. Like that you discover the connection how the mind influences the body and vice versa. Together we observe how your body holds onto things and how you might invite more ease and movement into it, the mental and the physical. I do that with a combination of light touch, movement, neurosensory exercises but also breathing, focus sessions (Eugene Gendlin), energetic bodywork, massage and conversation.

If you’re seeking a compassionate, responsive process that adapts to you in the moment, I’m here to support your journey toward a more regulated and integrated state.

Massage therapy/ somatic therapy can help with:

  • anxiety or panic

  • feeling restless

  • (unexplained) somatic complaints

  • if you find it difficult to connect with your body

  • symptoms of burnout

  • limiting beliefs about yourself or the world

  • profound experiences that have not been processed

  • if you've done talk therapy and you still feel like you need something 'different'

  • chronic pain

Before the first session I will send an intake form where you'll note down your inquiry. If you can't figure it out on your own, there is enough time in the first session to discuss this together.
